Mans（MANAV S. MEHTA）

is a professional Handpan player, percussionist, restaurateur, event coordinator, and hospitality services consultant.

His debut Handpan Ensemble Album ‘Handemic’ was released 2024 .

As an Indian born & raised in Taiwan, the resonance and versatility of the Handpan offers itself as a vehicle for further exploration of meditational soundscapes, complex rhythms, psychedelic rock, and various musical inspirations.

Made in Taiwan, facilitating multi-lingual, multi-cultural events & programming for over 14 years; he now hosts the largest annual handpan gathering on island, quarterly concerts in collaboration with a variety of local and international talent, and partners with several meditation & yoga practitioners exploring the full range of the Handpan’s potential.

Album Synopsis

During his participation in a sacred ceremony held in Goa, India. Mans was gifted his first handpan just 24 hours before the pandemic lockdown of 2020. Experiencing 2 months of near-starvation and complete isolation, a musical journey was born, and solace was found. This album titled ‘Handemic’ is an homage to the trials and tribulations of this time, crystallising his transformation, exploring the harrowing vulnerability, and embracing the warmth of gratitude and calm perspective.

The handpan ensemble is composed of Addison Eng (Bass), Hugo Be Hache (Guitar), Semalriyaw (Keys), Who J Peng (Drums), with select tracks featuring Axel Kirch (Guitar) and Ayesha Mehta (Breathwork). This international collective of musicians come from U.S.A, Spain, Germany, India, Taiwan and Australia.

Each contributing their own flavour and style to the cohesive body of work that is ‘Handemic’.

The release of ‘Handemic’ and extended tracks will serve as a vehicle for further exploration in creating ‘acoustic handpan music’ through a myriad of pan pairing collaborations, full band concerts, instrumental scores for various projects (ie: video games, films, and dance productions)
